Antique French Louis XVI Painted Marble Top Vanity will make the perfect finishing touch to your room! Crafted in the neoclassic style from top to bottom, it features a variety of hand-carved embellishments and an original painted finish that has achieved a lovely patina over the decades. Starting with the oval beveled mirror, the glass is framed with spiral ribbon and beaded molding topped with a rose blossom spray and a foliate flourish at the bottom. The mirror is suspended with two flared uprights carved with oval acanthus rosettes, floral garlands and acanthus plumes. The mirror overlooks the surface which is covered with neutral gray marble. The casework below consists of a single full width drawer flanked by oval rosettes, and carved with finely embellished Greek wave motif across the entire front, centered with a cast bronze pull. Support is provided by four tapered and fluted legs. Note the painted finish was applied with two subtly different tones to add relief and dynamic appeal.
