Early 19th Century Flemish Renaissance Buffet is a splendid example of fine cabinetry using techniques and tools that date back centuries ago!  The entire facade is a work of art, but examining it section by section is required to fully appreciate the artistry.  The upper tier features a half-bull molded edge underneath which appears intricately carved egg & dart molding, which in turn appears over the upper crown with undulating acanthus foliates on the sides and stylized vine motifs on the front, interrupted by carved faces of angels in full relief on each cornerpost and at the center.  Two spacious drawers are concealed within the upper crown, fitted with shield shaped brass key guards.  Fletching demilune bordering appears under the drawers overlooking the large cabinet doors, the right one of which has the pilaster mounted to create an unencumbered opening.  Beautiful stylized foliates in relief adorn the cabinet doors, framed by more egg & dart trim, and flanked by carved pilasters with Corinthian capitals.  Bold base molding completes the look.
