Antique Grand Italian Renaissance Two-Tier Buffet in Walnut will make an unforgettable statement in your family room, dining room or entertainment room!  The carved detail from top to bottom must be seen in person to be fully appreciated, but we will make an humble attempt to expound upon it.  The upper tier is boldly molded on top with a foliate-carved bonnet flanked by acanthus leaf corbels, which is situated above four cabinet doors flanked with classical figures on each side in bold full relief.  The outermost of the four upper cabinet doors feature angelic faces surrounded by stylized foliate detail, with the inner two complementing the same surround but centered with figures in different poses.  The sphinx-like supports on each side envelope the serving surface, backed by intricately carved panels with two corbels carved with gargoyles adding visual interest.  Fishscale bordering around the top of the serving surface overlooks three spacious drawers with carved facades and large carved pulls.  The drawer tier appears over the four cabinet doors below, which are flanked by more sculptural figures, with the doors carved with gryffins and elaborate stylized foliate detail.  A bold base with large lions' paw feet completes the design.
