19th Century Italian Gothic Walnut Raised Buffet with Painted Panels was hand-crafted from solid walnut, then given a gilded and painted finish and finally lavished with brass hinges and keyguards for a truly unique look! Intricate Gothic motifs appear between the hand-painted images of lords and ladies on the facade, with Gothic columns on the top corners set at 45 degrees, and face on for the lower tier, which flanks a full width shelf. The intricate nature of the strap hinges is quite impressive, and doors open wide to reveal unfettered access to a surprisingly voluminous interior. Such cabinets were designed to store the prized personal possessions of the Lord and Lady of the Villa. Ideal as a platform for a large flat panel TV!
