19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Buffet ~ Bookcase is a majestic way to decorate your room, while simultaneously providing display and storage with incredible style!  Starting with the sculpted crown depicting two lions guarding a heraldic crest with ample foliate sprays, two turned urn-form finials top the corner posts, between which appear incredible molded detail and a frieze with fully laden grapevines guarded by a lion's head and flanked by rectangular rosettes.  The columns are a double-grooved barley twist design and frame the pair of finely molded glazed upper doors, which allow one to view the contents situated on the two shelves with carved edges which provide three surfaces when included with the upper floor.  The upper tier is supported by a finely carved backsplash and two extraordinary hand-sculpted gryffins on each side, flanking the work surface that one can use for a wide variety of purposes.  Under the surface are two drawers with fully laden grapevine carvings that become the drawer pulls, with three rectangular rosettes providing an accent, the outermost two over the corner columns that match those of the upper tier.  The lower columns frame the two cabinet doors which are works of art in bold full relief depicting the spoils of a hunt in the field on the left, and a successful fishing trip on the right.  Doors open to reveal capacious discreet storage.  Multi-tiered, boldly carved base molding and bun feet complete the look.  Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary process that retains the patina and sheer natural beauty of the old wood, all performed by our expert in-house staff.
