19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Buffet is a work of the cabinetmaker's and sculptor's art! Rendered in old-growth oak to last for centuries, it features a classical architecture with exquisitely carved full relief adornment inspired by the Renaissance. The surface is surrounded by demilune bordering and overlooks the front facade topped with a pair of drawers framed with carved four-petal rosettes. The drawers are accessed with the lavish carvings that serve as both decoration and drawer pulls. Below, the cabinet doors features sculptures that celebrate a successful hunt on the left, and a successful fishing trip on the right, with the subjects intertwined with appropriate foliate backgrounds and framed with a bold acanthus leaf design, which in turn is flanked by the boldly carved corners with corbels, olive branches and acanthus plumes. A carved double-tiered base with pediment feet completes the look.
