19th Century Flemish Renaissance Buffet ~ Credenza is a remarkable work celebrating the splendor of the Renaissance Revival from top to bottom! The boldly gadrooned top edge frames the solid plank top, and overlooks the drawer tier which is amazingly detailed with fully laden grapevines and lions' heads serving as drawer pulls. The drawers are separated by a boldy carved rosette which appears over the center stile carved as a half-barley twist column with turned finial cap & base. The same column motifs also appear on each corner, linking the top tier to the elaborate two-tiered base supported by bun feet. The cabinet doors in between, however, are the most visually stimulating with boldly framed geometric forms accented with turned button rosettes and centered with massive carved rectangular rosettes in an acanthus plume motif. Drawers and doors open to reveal capacious storage, only adding to the allure.
