19th Century Swedish Painted Compartmentalized Box with Hasp is an interesting glimpse into the past!  Hand-crafted from solid pine, then reinforced with steel brackets, it has been fitted with a hasp lock for a modicum of security.  Such boxes could be used in a wide variety of ways.  An artist could keep supplies in it, or a watch repairman with his parts, or perhaps a fisherman with his prized lures and what-nots!  Painted a delightful cornflower blue, the painted finish has achieved a charming level of distressed patina over the decades, only adding to the charm.
