Antique French Directoire Neoclassical Mahogany Commode with Marble Top represents a revival of the classic style revived in this form at the end of the 18th century!  Crafted from fine imported mahogany, it features four full width drawers providing wonderful storage capacity.  The added luxury of a richly veined gray marble top with beveled edge and rounded corners provides carefree elegance in an incredibly neutral tone!  The rounded corners are extended in the casework below, flanking the drawers with three-quarter columns with fluting, transitioning to tapered legs below fitted with brass feet.  The drawer facades are outlined in brass quarter-round molding, then fitted with tailored brass key guards.  Rectangular brass bale pulls allow for easy access.  Note the hand-crafted back panels with pegged mortise & tenon joinery indicative of traditional craftsmanship by fine artisans.  A splendid example of understated elegance and refinement, ready to serve your family for generations to come!
