Antique Bombe Marble Top Commode in Stripped Oak is the result of an evolution that occurred over many centuries in Europe, originating in what is now Italy. The sensuous shape of the casework reminds one of the female form, accentuated by fine molded detail, a finely carved apron and scrolled legs, and exquisitely cast solid bronze drawer pulls and key guards. The key guards form an heraldic crest shape with intertwined foliates and crests above and below, while the asymmetrical pulls represent the influence of the Rococo movement. The exquisite natural beauty of the wood has been revealed using our in-house professional stripping process that retains the age and patina of the wood, making the bronze mounts "pop" and blending perfectly with the earth tones of the stone. In addition, although the drawer facade is abundantly contoured, the drawers still provide a copious amount of storage space, with an impressive piece of finely veined gray marble on top for the crowning touch!
