19th Century French Louis XVI Marble Top Mahogany Commode will make an elegant addition to any room! Hand-crafted in the neoclassic style favored by King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette, it features a subtly complex case contour that includes a bump out at the rear over the back legs, a rounded extension on each front corner over the rounded and fluted cornerposts, and a step-front center section which is carried through from the cove-beveled black marble top down to the apron below. The apron features a stunning neoclassical bronze casting depicting an urn atop foliates, and is flanked by the tailored, slightly scrolled legs fitted with bronze feet. Three capacious drawers provide ample storage, each fitted with a brace of bronze ring pulls centered with shield and ribbon key guards. The subtle grain of the exotic imported mahogany veneer adds visual allure on each side and across the front.
