19th Century French Louis XVI Fruitwood Marble Top Commode is a highly unusual iteration of the form, blending the luxurious naturalism of Carrara marble with the luster of cast & burnished bronze with the natural color of fine French fruitwood! The main facade features a subtly rounded edge that transitions into the mitered cornerposts that are also fluted, then into a even more subtle serpentine side. The richness of the solid fruitwood is more apparent thanks to the natural finish that emphasizes its warmth and grain figure. Bronze trim defines the side panels and the drawer facade, accentuated by the large, detailed pulls and prominent rectangular rosettes. Fine wooden trim molding joins with the effect, leading the eye down to the tapered legs tipped with brass feet. The complex lines of the casework form are followed by the contours of the beveled marble top, lending a luxurious and visually appealing qualilty. Drawers open to reveal copious storage, making this piece as functional as it is a wonder to behold!
