19th Century Dutch Marble Top Chippendale Commode ~ Chest of Drawers is a splendid example of the capabilities of the talented cabinetmakers of primarily Amsterdam and Rotterdam that rose to world prominence during the 17th century.  Utilizing sumptuous walnut and burl veneering laid on an intricately contoured facade, it features three spacious drawers accessed by original cast bronze pulls with matching key guards exhibiting fine detail in the neoclassic form.  The sides of the casework are restrained, yet all four legs are classic Chippendale with bold shoulders lavished with carved scroll work, bell flowers, cross hatching and talon & ball feet.  The front legs frame the contoured and scrolled apron which continues the burl finish.  A finely veined piece of marble was chosen to create the carefree yet elegant top, expertly contoured and beveled to follow the complex form of the casework below for the perfect finishing touch!
