Antique French Empire Style Mahogany Buffet ~ Credenza remains the quintessential French design for those seeking classic lines and a hint of formality, in the case of this understated example.  Lavished with exotic imported mahogany on all sides and on top, the richness and sheer natural beauty of the wood is on full display.  Enhancements that in no way detract from its intrinsic beauty include brass drawer knobs, capitals and bases in cast brass on each of the four half-round columns, and brass tips on the tapered legs below.  The remainder of the design is a very tailored concept, making this piece work with a much broader spectrum of decors.  The relative low height and shallow depth also make it a great choice as a credenza, or a platform for a large flat panel TV.  Spacious storage abounds behind the cabinet doors and inside the drawers, with the right two doors opening with the half-column attached to provide unencumbered access to the larger cabinet within.
