19th Century Louis XIV Buffet is a handsome piece that will add just the right amount of storage and display surface to any room!  Hand-crafted from solid planks of old-growth oak, it features a concave curvature of the upper tier which became popular starting at the beginning of the Louis Philippe period, and in this case embellished with carvings on the corners and fitted with a concave drawer facade the full width of the piece, embellished with refined scrollwork, floral and foliate carvings in bas relief, centered with a cast brass key guard.  Cast brass keyguards and brass barrel hinges also adorn the lower cabinet doors, which meet in the middle without a stile, providing unfettered access to the surprising amount of storage within.  Carved with shell, foliate and fine molding details, the doors lead the eye down to the tastefully scrolled apron with cloven hoof feet.
