19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut Buffet is a glorious testament to the artistic talents of the sculptors who created such visual magnificence out of sumptuous French walnut! Set upon a classically-inspired architectural form, the piece features tapered and carved columns on each corner that provide a framework for the full relief sculptures of the beauty and bounty of the earth expressed in floral wreaths hung with ribbon and vines, as well as a torchere serving as an urn at the center. The three doors are separated by laurel leaf overlay on the stiles. Above the stiles and corner posts appear rosettes which also separate the three fluted drawers. Fluting also appears on the apron below, which is centered with a pair of crossed torcheres atop olive branches. Beautifully cast bronze key guards and drawer pulls complete the look.
