19th Century French Louis XVI Marble Top Display Buffet was hand-crafted by master artisans from indigenous French walnut, luxuriously veined Sienna marble, hand-cast bronze and beveled glass to create a truly special one-of-a-kind look that serves multiple functions! Of course it creates a visual centerpiece for the room, but also provides substantial storage behind the center door and three drawers, with display possibilities on the side cabinets, and of course a carefree and elegant serving and display surface on top, thanks to the beveled marble. But step closer and you'll quickly realize how this piece can stand on its own as a beautiful work of art! Not only are the hand-cast ring pulls and key guards of jewelry quality, the stone is particularly stunning with intricate veining and earth tones intermingled throughout the slab, finished with a cove bevel on the edge. The apron below is tailored, centered with a foliate and scroll design, with rosettes appearing above the tapered and fluted legs. Above the rosettes are fluted pilasters creating a framework for the doors, with more rosettes on top separating the tailored drawer facades. The side doors are fitted with beveled glass to allow you to show off family memorabilia, particularly collectible pieces, or seasonal whims. The center door, though, is truly a work of the sculptor's art! Set on a raised panel framed by fine molding one sees floral garlands with flowing ribbon and a bow on top gracing the top of an oval laurel wreath which in turn creates the framework for a sculpture of a beehive surrounded by gardening implements nestled on a foliate base, all executed in exquisite full relief. Elongated triangular rosettes complete the presentation.
