19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Mahogany Buffet is a timeless example of an era in French history that recalled the tailored architectural lines of the ancient Greeks and Romans yet avoided excess ornamentation for a clean, uncluttered look that remains popular and versatile today! Utilizing exotic imported mahogany, the artisans carefully selected the boards to display the luxurious grain to greatest effect, creating a so-called "flame" pattern on the doors. A very subtle corbel appears on each mitered corner, with rectilinear molding providing definition and framework. The spacious drawers are accessed with turned wood knobs, and even the key guards on the cabinets below are turned from wood. Doors open to reveal a cavernous interior, and pediment style feet provide support.
