19th Century French Louis XVI Mahogany Armoire with Bronze Mounts from Paris is a stunning example of Belle Epoque grandeur, hand-crafted by masters of a bygone era! Utilizing exotic imported mahogany, the artisans created a neoclassical casework that includes extended cornerposts comprised of fluted columns that are capped top and bottom and elaborated with meticulously cast bronze ormolu mounts exhibiting amazing detail. The molding detail that abounds from the crown to the base defines the tiers of the facade and wraps around the extended corners continuing all the way to the back of the piece. Taking center stage is the full length original beveled mirror mounted on the door which provides a lovely reflection of your room. Above the door is the most amazing ormolu casting, depicting various gardening symbols as well as fully laden grapevines, all expressed in intricate detail. The door opens to reveal a spacious interior fitted with its original four adjustable shelves and an interior drawer faced with maple to match the backing on the main door. Midway down the mirror one notices the luxurious key guard and just below amazingly detailed decorative castings fitted amongst the flutes of the corner columns. Below the door is a full width exterior drawer as well, fitted with finely crafted bronze bale pulls and an amazingly complex crest & foliate key guard. Tapered and fluted legs provide support.
