Antique French Quatrefoil Pedestal Table ~ End Table was meticulously hand-crafted from hand-select oak chosen for its tight, close grain and lack of knots or imperfections, resulting in a table that appears more like walnut than oak. The quatrefoil design dates back millennia representing the four points of the cross, and has been used in countless designs of furniture, architecture and landscape design ever since. A tailored apron follows the contours of the beveled top, and is supported by four gracefully scrolled legs that are carved with beading and wildflowers, then fluted down to converge onto the multiple-tiered concentric base, with a tapered shaft centered in the design for incredible strength and gracefulness of form. Ideal as an entryway piece for a cozy foyer, on a stairwell landing, between two comfy chairs, or anywhere one would like to display a special vase, statue or objet d'art as it is finished completely around on all four sides!
