19th Century Rustic Queen Anne Stripped End Table is a quaint example of rural artisans following the leads of the style-setters of their time, normally ingratiating towards current or past monarchs. This style is an historical predecessor to the Chippendale form, and decidedly more tailored, with very subtly scrolled legs and club feet, and a simply sculpted apron all around. The top consists of two solid planks of oak, while oak and sycamore were used for the remainder of the piece. The stripped finish allows one to appreciate the sheer natural beauty of the woods and their relative patinas as they have aged.
Circa 1880s
