19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut End Table with Bronze Mounts is obviously a product of superior craftsmanship melded with the finest materials to create a timeless example of the furniture maker's art.  The sumptuous grain and rich coloration of the top, framed all around with beveled walnut, creates an attractive surface supported by a rectilinear casework below accentuated with cast bronze egg & dart trim and no less than eight rectangular rosettes on each corner resulting in a luxurious effect.  Although it is finished all around in that manner, making it ideal for placement anywhere in the room, one long side includes a full width drawer discernible only by the keyhole with brass guard at the center.  Note the expertly cut dovetail joinery and half-mortised bass lockwork.  Fully trimmed all around with fine molding, the casework is supported by four elegantly tapered and fluted column legs embellished with carved detail including reeding, spiral rope and acanthus plumes.  The table is an excellent size for just about any application, in any room of the home or office!
