19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut End Table ~ Center Table is a neoclassical master work of the wood sculptor's art! Carved on all four sides in an almost square format, it features luxurious French walnut that is displayed for all to admire especially on the top. Each apron depicts a pair of acanthus plumes arranged to create a fleur de lys motif at the center, flanked by double flower garlands emanating out to the legs on each corner. The graceful cabriole legs are adorned with bold shell motifs at the top of the shoulders positioned above acanthus fronds, with subtle banded wheat leading the eye down to the upturned acanthus leaf and escargots carved on the feet below. Such tables can serve as centerpieces in entryways, libraries or other rooms, but this example is not too large to serve as a side table as well, and serve with classic, timeless style at that!
