19th Century French Louis XVI Giltwood Marble Top Oval End Table is the ideal choice for a classic, timeless touch of style! A great selection as a center table in a cozy foyer, as well, it features a tailored architecture that is enhanced with exquisite carved detail that is brought to its full potential with the gold finish that has achieved a lovely patina over the past century. The top consists of a subtly veined, neutral colored marble that will provide decades of carefree daily service. The stone is surrounded by carved molding in the spiral ribbon motif, which transitions to an apron with Greek coin all around, interrupted by rectangular rosettes atop the legs, and at the center of the "long" sides, a glorious full relief study of a small floral bouquet. The legs are elegantly turned and tapered, the n fluted and carved with acanthus plumes at the top shoulders, then connected with bowed stretchers below that are filled with a smaller oval that is caned, and finally accented with laurel foliates between the inner oval and the connections to the legs, providing an elegant shelf if so desired.
