19th Century French Louis XVI End Table was hand-crafted during the early years of the 1800s, and features solid old-growth oak construction to literally last for generations!  The top is contoured to accentuate the cornerposts, and hand-carved with egg & dart motif all around.  Underneath, the apron is in four sections, each carved in full relief with laurel swags, ribbon and olive branches.  Each corner consists of a plinth with rosettes pointing in both directions over elegantly tapered and fluted legs.  The epitome of understated elegance, it is a tribute to the rural artisans who used what today would be considered primitive tools to create lasting legacies for their families and families to come, while imitating the styles in vogue during their time therefore emulating in this case, the neoclassical revival of that period.
