19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Marble Top End Table ~ Center Table is a timeless reminder of what many consider a definitive French style.  Inspired by both the Baroque and Rococo movements, what we call today the Louis XV style presents graceful elegance with adornment inspired by nature.  Here we see a subtle violin shaped table top with a recessed and inset luxurious marble top.  All four aprons are elegantly contoured and carved with scallop shells at the center flanked by wildflower sprays.  Beaded trim follows the contour of the aprons, which are connected at each corner with stylish cabriole legs, each of which sports a bow of ribbon in bas relief, and the continuation of the beaded trim leading the eye down to the foliate flourish just above the turned feet.  Legs are also connected with bowed stretchers for visual appeal as well as structural reinforcement, centered with a domed acanthus rosette for the perfect finishing touch.
