19th Century Country French Mini-Petrin Sewing Cabinet ~ End Table is one of the most charming pieces we've seen in decades! Designed to look like a doughbox, it features the trademark trapezoidal shape of the box on top, mated to a platform that contains a full width drawer, elaborately contoured and hand-carved apron, and support provided by four elongated teardrop shaped legs mated to a classic "H" stretcher fitted with bun feet. The apron motifs feature stylized shell, floral and foliate motifs framed by scrollwork, while the main front panel above boasts a full relief depiction of a flaming urn flanked by laurel sprays. Aside from the drawer providing convenient storage, the top opens up trunk-like to reveal the original intention of the piece, with a fabric mount with pocket inside. An excellent choice as an end table, a platform for displaying lamps, vases, statuary or the like, or even serving as a bedside companion!
