19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Serpentine Display Armoire ~ Bookcase is an amazing example of expert craftsmanship and design!  The casework features serpentine sides, a boldly arched crown and arbalette apron with scrolled legs.  Atop the arched crown appears an amazing sculpture in solid walnut depicting a Rococo masterpiece of stylized shell, floral and foliates, cascading down the shoulders to the rounded corners from which emanate the aforementioned serpentine sides.  Carved embellishment on the corners at the top and bottom add to the framework around the fully glazed door which is hung with blind hinges.  The door is fitted with hand-beveled glass, and opens to reveal four adjustable shelves for a total of five surfaces, and a convenient interior drawer to boot!  Truly an elegant way to display family mementos, trophies, collectibles, keepsakes, and even books!
