Antique French Louis XVI Painted Day Bed ~ Sofa will make a splendid addition to your timeless decor!  Crafted in the neoclassical revival style championed by Louis XVI, it features an artistically carved framework with raised side panels equal to the height of the seat back, adorned with concave corners and carved with spiral ribbon motif down the entire length.  The same carved motif appears also on the apron below.  Four columns provide support, with the front consisting of tapered and fluted designs with upturned foliate bases, rosettes, and tapered and fluted legs all around.  Atop each of the four cornerposts also appear ostrich plume finials, all delightfully hand-carved.  The painted finish has achieved a subtle patina over the decades, only making the carved detail more alluring.  The framework surrounds a plush upholstery padded on the sides and back, fitted with three stuffed cushions, and even includes three original cushions.  Sorry, the bolsters shown are NOT included.  All are upholstered in luxurious dark green mohair for long lasting comfort!
