19th Century French Renaissance Revival Ceremonial Wine Goblets, Pitcher & Platter are a stunning collector's set, rendered in astonishing detail in a high-copper content brass that will add a particular significance to any celebration! Designed for toasting at weddings, anniversaries or important business deals, to name a few, such sets were reserved only for special occasions. The detail in relief around the entire extremities of the pitcher, goblets, and even the surface of the platter must be closely examined to be fully appreciated. Bacchus, the God of Mirth and Wine figures prominently in the designs, with playful cherubs, abundant fruit and of course fully laden grapevines covering every square inch of visible surface. The goblets are lavishly detailed as well, and even the platter evokes wonder with intricate embossed patterns, five heads of Bacchus, and an elaborate bordering, with circular rings designed for the pitcher and each goblet that have been decorated with astounding detail so that even the platter is amazingly attractive when there's no pitcher or goblets on it.
