18th Century Dutch Bronze & Copper Tea Kettle Warmer is an intriguing artifact, hand-crafted from bronze and copper to provide a cradle for one's teapot in the room in which it is being served. A few coals would be tossed into the base, the free-standing device would be placed in the room, and a kettle would be kept on top to keep the tea warm. Swing-up handles were designed to keep cool to the touch so that it could be easily moved around even when coals were present. The bronze stand features a little style flair and the copper rivets are just one aspect indicating it was completely crafted by hand.
