Antique Louis XIV Oak Commode was literally made to last for generations! Hand-crafted from solid oak, even on the back with chamfered plank panels, it features a gracefully bowed front facade which is reflected in the contours of the beveled top. Generously rounded cornerposts are carved with acanthus leaf and scrollwork, providing a framework for the drawer facade. Each of the three massive drawers is lavished with beveled edging, molded framing, floral and foliate carvings and finely cast brass pulls. The apron below is visually striking, pierce cared with foliate motifs in an undulating design that mates up with the straight, tailored cornerposts to flare out at the feet which provide a sturdy stance on all four corners. Raised panels on the sides ensure visual appeal from all angles!
