19th Century Dutch Country French Commode ~ Chest of Drawers is a handsome piece, indeed, hand-crafted from old-growth quarter-sawn oak to literally last for decade after decade. The solid plank top features a bullnose style edge, with reverse cove trim melding with the top of the casework. Tailored side panels contrast with the elegantly scrolled molding on the apron below. Similar treatment appears on the front apron, flanked by a brace of scrolled legs carved with acanthus plumes. On each corner, a raised pilaster carving provides a framework for the four drawers that are the highlight of the design. Each features three carved segments with stylized foliates recessed into the face. Brass key guards and bale pulls provide additional accent and functionality. An excellent choice to provide a bit of style as well as copious storage for any room!
