19th Century Country French Cherry Wood Marble Top Commode combines the best of all worlds! Exuding a somewhat rustic look thanks to the natural beauty of the solid aged cherry wood, it features refined embellishments in the form of finely cast bronze pulls and key guards, and lastly the carefree elegance of a beveled marble top. The casework is of a tailored design, with simple raised panels on each side and a scrolled apron in front. The drawers were cut with an arbalette form, named after a quiver of arrows, and consist of a pair of full width drawers combined with an upper tier of two smaller sized units. Each drawer is fitted with pulls cast in the likeness of bouquets of flowers with foliate flourishes. The key guards are equally remarkable, depicting a pair of dolphins with intertwined tails being fed by cherubs! The luxurious veining of the marble, the richness of the exquisite cherry wood, and the allure of the bronze appointments truly make an exquisite combination!
