18th Century Louis XVI Period Commode ~ Chest of Drawers features a facade en arbalette lavished with superb neoclassic carved detail that is visually captivating! When viewed from above, one can clearly see the archer's bow form of the entire front, all the way down to the undulating apron. Each of the three capacious drawers is centered with a laurel wreath with ribbon carved in bold relief. flanking the center carvings are framed panels with vertical fluting centered with simple brass bale pulls, with small foliate sprays providing accent. Bold lions' paws support the front, and just as bold molded detail pervades the entire design. Extra deep, it will hold amazing amounts of whatever you need to store, as such a piece was designed long before walk-in closets! Hand-crafted from select old-growth oak to last for centuries.
