Sale18th Century Country French Painted Commode features subtle rococo styling cues with the molded detail and the contoured apron with scrolled legs, but they are so subtle that this rendition would work in any transitional setting! Painted finish has achieved a lovely patina over the centuries, and the newly installed brass hardware has a genuine old look while providing carefree enjoyment of your new family heirloom! Three spacious drawers provide abundant storage, as well as a nice surface for display or daily use. The contoured and finely molded apron is the most apparent stylistic cue, with molded, rounded cornerposts and recessed panels on the sides to add as much sophistication to the design as the primitive tools of the period would allow. Note the rough-hewn solid vertical planks of the back side, a firm verification of the handiwork involved in its production.
