18th Century Country French Louis XVI Commode ~ Chest of Drawers in Stripped Oak was designed to store all the foldable clothes for the master or mistress of the home!  Hand-crafted from old-growth oak, it features a neoclassical style popular during the period in keeping with the tastes of the court of Louis XVI.  Carved embellishment consists of wildflower and foliate themes accented by cast brass knobs and key guards, with complementary carvings on the rounded corner posts.  As a transitional gesture, a tailored scrolled apron appears at the front and each side with scrolled, unadorned legs.  Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary process that retains the patina and sheer natural beauty of the old wood, all performed by our expert in-house staff.
