19th Century Country French Inlaid Buffet is a charming example of the genre, styled with tailored lines compared to most French furnishings, yet still a design executed with flair! Hand-crafted from select, dense, old-growth oak, it features a solid plank top overlooking three drawers and three cabinets, all of which open to reveal cavernous storage, with no partitions and a full width shelf inside. Each drawer and cabinet facade is defined by fine molding detail and the cabinets, with raised panels, and all six faces are enhanced with compass rose motifs inlaid from walnut and cherry wood to create classic visual appeal with a nautical touch. Between the cabinet doors wildflowers are carved into the stiles, leading the eye to the undulating apron below. Raised panels on the sides ensure visual appeal from all angles. Note the hand-cut solid oak panels on the back side, an important indicator that this piece will provide enjoyment for generations to come!
