18th Century Country French Painted Buffet is a great size for a wide variety of decorating applications in most any room. The three door buffet fills the gap between the smaller dessert buffet and the full size buffet, reaching a happy medium in space allotment. This particular example was rendered by capable rural artisans from dense, old-growth oak to literally last for centuries. One can most immediately see this in the shot of the back side showing the thick, rough-hewn solid planks used in its construction. Three drawers with pull knobs and three doors all open to reveal copious amounts of storage and organizational opportunities. From a design accent perspective, it features a somewhat tailored look with only a touch of carved detail on the apron below. The rustic, workaday appeal of this design has been and will remain popular for generations to come. The very subtle two-toned patinaed painted finish only adds to the charm.
