Grand 18th Century Liegoise Country French Armoire is a spectacular example of the finest indigenous materials used by incredibly talented artisans using techniques handed down for millennia!  The timeless design features a rectilinear casework topped with an elegantly arched crown, which is configured in the arbalette form after an archer's bow.  The form creates a double arch centered with a stunning sculpture of a Baroque motif inspired by shell, floral and foliates found in nature.  The crown and bonnet immediately below are defined by lavishly detailed molding which is a treatment that has been extended throughout the design.  The enormous doors are beautifully framed, hung with brass hinges, and feature complementary carved detail at the top and middle.  Rounded corners are defined by the complex molding detail, and accented with corbels at top which are repeated with the center stile attached to the left door, an arrangement that allows unfettered access to the cavernous interior within.  Only the finest dense, old-growth white oak was hand-selected to produce this master work, completely hand-fitted throughout using pegged mortise & tenon joinery ensuring it will continue to be a family legacy heirloom for centuries to come!
