18th Century Country French Louis XVI Period Whitewashed Armoire will instantly become the focal point of any room! Arresting visual presence begins with the impressive multi-tiered crown molding that follows the contours of the casework below including rounded, mitered corner posts and a step-front center stile. The bonnet also follows that contour, and is adorned with wildflower carvings in bas relief. That overriding theme also appears at the top and bottom of the rounded cornerposts and center stile, as well as the top and bottom of each of four door panels, all hand-carved in bas relief for a subtle artistic effect. The center stile is also attached to the right door, so when the doors are open, it creates an unfettered opening making this ideal for anything, including housing a flat panel TV. The two sturdy adjustable shelves within combine with the tongue-and-groove base to create three surfaces total, with options galore as to configuration. It's even an excellent candidate as an entertainment center! A cast brass key guard and brass hinges add a nice touch, while the restrained base molding and turned urn-shaped feet complete the look. The natural tones of the old-growth wood are faintly apparent through the professional whitewashed finish, executed by our expert in-house staff!
