Antique French Renaissance Fruitwood Granite Top Coffee Table was beautifully sculpted from solid fruitwood that has been given a pleasing medium toned stain and finish.  The substantial framework that serves as the top surrounds a lovely piece of granite showing various shades of gray coloration for a splendidly neutral effect that also happens to create a carefree surface perfect for daily use.  Support is provided by a pair of finely carved shield-shaped side panels, carved completely through for a sculpted effect.  The motifs represented include bold acanthus scrolls, a variant of a fleur de lys, ribbon and a spray of wildflowers.  The supports are mounted upon an "H" shaped base with scrolled and carved feet combining stability with style.
