19th Century French Louis XVI China Buffet is one of a pair that we found, and the twin is available as of this writing, if you act fast! Hand-crafted from solid oak, it features a stately neoclassical presence that is truly timeless. The arbalette, or archer's bow crown is festooned with a beautifully sculpted floral wreath and sprays, under which a bonnet is adorned with foliates expressed in relief. Rosettes flank the crown, and appear over tapered, fluted and carved columns which are replicated in a different proportion below flanking the open serving area with mirrored backsplash, and again providing corner posts for the lower cabinet. More rosettes appear in the design, with shell carvings, Greek wave design, and fluted pilasters inspired by ancient Greek and Roman architecture. Display your finest in the upper cabinet behind beveled glass panes, and store amazing amounts of china, crystal and flatware in the center upper cabinet, spacious drawers with solid cast brass bale pulls, and yawning lower cabinet. Serve in style on the parquet surface with the help of additional light reflected by the beveled mirror. The piece de resistance? The carved basket of flowers in glorious relief dominating the facade that appears on the upper center cabinet door!
