18th Century French Neoclassical Buffet a Deux Corps in Stripped Oak is a rare find and majestic example of fine French craftsmanship, featuring a boldly arched chapeau de gendarme cornice atop the upper tier of doors which are divided into three distinct paneled sections. The upper arched section is completely carved with floral and foliates in bas relief, while the center section displays foliate carvings only in the corners, and the bottom section no carving at all. The bottom tier of this piece features a pair of doors with arched raised & recessed panels topped with cross hatching, and foliate carvings on the drawers that appear just above the cabinet doors. Rendered from old growth oak to last for centuries, it has been painstakingly stripped using our proprietary non-petrochemical process that retains the natural beauty and patina of the wood. With the simple act of removing the middle shelf, this magnificent piece can jump into the 21st century by serving as an entertainment center!
