19th Century French Napoleon III Period Round Rosewood Center Table was literally designed to captivate the attention of arriving guests immediately upon entering the home. Utilizing exotic imported rosewood from the Americas, it features the incredible natural beauty of the wood in full display, across the entire spacious top, around the entire circumference of the apron, the pedestal and three-pronged footed base. A very understated bullnose style beveled edge on the top works with the half-round beaded trim around the bottom of the apron for sublime elegance. The pedestal steals the show, however, with a fluted urn design that flares out to join with the base. Each of the three leg extensions of the base are fitted with exquisitely carved scrollworks reminiscent of a decorative architectural corbel, then casters below to make it easy to move about the room. Also a great choice as a game table!
