19th Century French Louis XVI Giltwood Marble Top Center Table was designed to make a powerful visual statement for the room!  Useful in a variety of settings, including entryways for maximum effect, the design was covered in a single piece of luxuriously veined marble for both aesthetics and performance, with the top being impervious to errant water from flower arrangements.  The framework is a masterwork of the wood sculptor's art, with an apron that is contiguous with floral garlands draped all around, attached via ribbon bows separated by foliates carved in a spiral fashion.  Each corner is defined by rosettes facing both directions, under which are the four elegantly tapered and fluted legs with wheat reeding and acanthus leaf caps.  The legs join to plinth blocks with rosettes that are connected with an "X" stretcher finely molded and centered with a subtle acanthus finial rosette.  Teardrop shaped feet complete the look.
