Antique Neoclassical Revival Raised Cabinet ~ Dry Bar will add an Old World yet charming rustic enhancement to any room. Designed as a dry bar, its drop down front reveals a cabinet that can be used for a wide variety of storage requirements. Crafted from solid oak all around, even on the top which is plenty sturdy enough for a heavy display item such as a bronze statue, it consists of four timbers serving as corner posts and a restrained panel design on each side, as well as below the cabinet overlooking the open shelf. The fine carved detail appears only on the full width drawer with a repeating coin design, and the drop down door itself with a pair of arched colonnades flanking a richly sculpted panel of stylized foliates at the center. A finely cast iron lockwork plate contains the latch lock, and a brace of chains support the door when fully opened greatly increasing the work/preparation area, even though the entire piece including molding is only 19" deep from the wall!
Circa mid-1900s
