Antique French Louis XVI Neoclassical Argentier ~ Silver Cabinet ~ Nightstand is truly an unusual find ~ and a versatile one at that!  Crafted on a diminutive scale similar to that of a larger nightstand, it features a rather spacious interior cabinet with no drawer that used to be lined in silver felt which has not survived.  Carved with wonderful detail on all three sides, it makes an excellent choice for any room, and for most any purpose.  The charming trio of cherub musicians in full relief on the door panel seem to be in the midst of a lively tune, and are framed by Greek coin rosettes all around.  The framework around the door itself is carved with demilune rosettes, with florals down the rounded cornerposts.  Four tapered legs with lotus motif provide support, but one of the most intriguing aspects of the design is a raised prominent floral bouquet in front that rises above the top surface.
