19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Argentier ~ Secretary ~ Confiturier is a truly interesting piece, combining elements not seen in pieces of this size and design, much to the delight of its future owner! It appears to be a formal confiturier at first glance, with a single drawer above a single door cabinet, but that's where the resemblance ends. The drawer opens to reveal a small tooled leather top writing surface, and two interior drawers! The cabinet door opens to reveal a cubby hole and two interior drawers, with yet another drawer below hidden by the facade of the base molding. Such features make it great as a silver storage chest. This fascinating piece sports brass key guards and the sheer natural beauty of the figured walnut exterior as its visual appeal, of course including the beautifully veined gray marble top. What a great piece for a young student's bedroom, or as a conversation starter anywhere in the home, guaranteed to be a source of pride during your entertaining!
