The New Year Rings In New Antique Beginnings

Antique Letter EngravingNew beginnings are always fresh & exhilarating, and of course we are thrilled to be entering a New Year.  It has been a pleasure to share our adventures in this blog, and also our passion for antiques, art and design.  We had a great 2011 with the launching of our newly redesigned Inessa Stewart’s website, and want to thank everybody for their kind comments and words of encouragement.  We have so many more ideas for exiting plans & projects that we’ll be launching in 2012!  But as much as we love the past and all things old, the New Year always fills us with a revitalized hope for a better future, and a brighter tomorrow.

Holiday Splendor and a New Antique Shipment!

Antique Letter EngravingThis year a gigantic present appeared “under our tree” in the form of a 40 foot container filled with French antique furniture, arriving the day before Christmas Eve.  As we opened it, wonderful antiques of all shapes and sizes sprang forth ~ an amazing assortment of antique furniture, antique lighting, antique accessories of all kinds, antique paintings and gorgeous antique mirrors.  The excitement was infectious as we all pitched in, opening what seemed like a million boxes; there were lots of accessories on this one!  It is always exiting that after a month of shopping, gathering and packing, we finally see the fruits of our efforts appear in our warehouses.  Of course our job doesn’t stop at this point…  After admiring anew our exiting wares we begin the laborious processes of tagging, cleaning, waxing and refurbishing antique lighting, antique accessories and antique furniture from abroad.

Antique Furniture New ArrivalsWe were so happy the shipment arrived just in time for our clients, who bought on line to be able to get their gift purchases in time for Christmas.  So, after all the hustle and bustle mentioned above, we then got busy wrapping, delivering and shipping.  We are so blessed to be a part of our friends’ and clients’ holiday celebrations!  This time of the year our showrooms literally glow with excitement!

Christmas Inspirations of Holiday Splendor

A-3As it is Christmas and holiday inspiration is all around us, I wanted to share some images of Christmas light decorations in Dallas. It is nice at this time of year to take a break from our demanding antique furniture business and enjoy the rich traditions and splendor of the season. We were fortunate to be there just last week, and had fun looking at and photographing amazing displays of holiday lighting splendor. We felt these photos would be perfect to share with everybody.

Christmas Dallas Highland Park Village

Christmas lighting in Dallas is a serious affair ~ from shopping villages to private homes ~ creating beautiful sights to behold. There are businesses that specialize in decorating for Christmas when a client wants to go “all out”.

Christmas Front Doors

Christmas ReindeerOur dog, Louis, attempted to befriend the animatronic reindeer outside of someone’s home. He was also very interested in the Clydesdale pulling the carriage.

In Highland Park, a community long ago surrounded by the expanding city of Dallas, one can see horse-drawn carriages for hire, decked out in holiday majesty, trotting thru lavishly decorated neighborhoods and filled with holiday sightseers.

Christmas Hourse and Gazebo

Christmas Street Light

At our store we have been dreaming of a White Christmas. It is one of my favorite holiday color schemes, layered with crystals and centered with cream bisque centerpieces.  You can add silver or gold elements in this design’s palette as well as pewter, antique bronze and mercury glass ornaments ~ all of which will add a special luminescence to the display.

May these images inspire us and add to the Magic of Christmas! And on behalf of everyone at Inessa Stewart’s Antiques & Interiors, we wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, a Joyous Holiday Season and prosperous New Year!

Enjoy!
